In Noida metro, you can now book a party coach

NOIDA: From quirky pre-wedding events to children's birthday parties, the metro is ready to host celebrations.
"It will be new, it will be interesting," said PD Upadhyay, executive director of NMRC. The idea is not new. Jaipur has it, as does Gujarat and Gurgaon's Rapid Metro. "But you won't find it anywhere abroad," he added.
Coaches can be booked on operational metro coaches, which will run on their regular routes in a loop, or on stationary ones. The operational coaches will run during regular hours while the stationary ones will run through the day, with one break between 11pm and 2am.
Those who want to book a coach have to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 20,000 and a licence fee of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 an hour for every metro coach, depending on whether they want NMRC to decorate the coach. Up to four coaches can be booked, at least 15 days before the event, on the Noida Metro website. Each coach can have up to 50 people on board. NMRC has been exploring options to augment revenue - it lets film and photo shoots and allows co-branding of metro stations and NMRC property.
