Arvind Kejriwal was born on 16 August 1968 in Hisar district of Haryana, his father's name is Govind and mother's name is Geeta. Kejriwal completed his schooling from the campus school at Hisar, Haryana and then the Christian Missionary School at Sonepat. Being good in studies, he got admission in IIT Kharagpur.

From here, Kejriwal earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Arvind Kejriwal started his career with Tata Steel in 1989 after earning a degree in mechanical engineering, the first posting being in Jamshedpur. He resigned in 1992 after working here for three years and started preparing for the civil service.

Arvind Kejriwal, having cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), assumed the responsibility of an IRS officer, during the IRS training he met Sunita, whom he married after love.

After the withdrawal of UPSC, he got the post of Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, but later he also quit his job here and started working in social work, leaving the IRS job, Arvind Kejriwal who came on the streets for social service, initially big social workers like Anna Hazare Got along with

On 26 November 2012, Kejriwal laid the foundation of the Aam Aadmi Party and announced his foray into politics, for the first time in 2013, the Aam Aadmi Party entered the electoral arena against the then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of the Congress, their method of campaigning was different from the expensive rallies.
