Karnataka Bandh will not affect PU I exam date, says official

BENGALURU: The Karnataka Bandh call by pro-Kannada organisations on Thursday, February 13, will not affect Pre-university course I exams. All the PU I exams will be conducted as per the schedule. "The PU I exams will go ahead as scheduled" clarified PU department official.
There will be no holiday for schools or colleges on Thursday owing to the Karnataka bandh. However, the local officials can take a call depending upon the law and order situation there, said S Suresh Kumar, Minister for primary and secondary education, Karnataka. "Neither the education department nor the government has declared any holiday for schools and colleges. The government has given free hand to the deputy commissioner's of each area to make a decision depending upon the law and order situation of the area," he said.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka bandh is likely to hit transport services in the state, especially in Bengaluru as several cab and auto unions have announced their support to the bandh.
