Court accepts Hafiz Saeed's plea to club all 6 terror cases

ISLAMABAD: A anti-terrorism court in Pakistan on Tuesday agreed to concurrently hear and announce verdicts on six cases against Hafiz Saeed, the chief of banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa and the alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and his co-conspirators.
Six cases are pending before the Lahore-based anti-terrorism court against Saeed and his aides. On February 6, the court had reserved its verdict in two of the cases. Deputy prosecutor general Abdul Rauf Wattoo said presentation of evidence is in progress in four other cases.
"The reserved verdicts, which relate to terror financing cases, will also be announced with those on other four cases at the end of the week," he said. On Saturday, the court delayed its verdict in two cases and decided to hear arguments on February 11 on the defendants' application to hear all the cases first.
