Anti-BJP wave will continue, says Jharkhand CM on Delhi verdict

Hemant Soren
RANCHI: The anti-BJP wave that began in Jharkhand has been cemented in Delhi with the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s victory in the assembly election, chief minister Hemant Soren said on Tuesday.
Hemant, who led the mahagathbandhan of JMM-Congres-RJD alliance and unseated the saffron party in the state in December, said, "I am not surprised by AAP's victory in Delhi. Everyone except BJP saw it coming. The verdict has re-established the fact that voters want a pro-people and pro-development government and they will not fall in BJP's trap of divisive politics. The anti-BJP wave will continue to strengthen from one state to another. I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal ji for retaining power to further his development works."
Taking a jibe at the BJP-led government at the Centre, Heman said the situation would have been different had the party worked in public interest rather than channelising all its energy to divide and polarise people. "It is up to them (BJP) to introspect if they need to invest the kind of resources and energy to defend their wrong policies but not address the real concerns of the people. During the assembly polls in Jharkhand too, the entire BJP machinery, including the PM and the home minister, had used all their energy but failed to win the hearts of the voters," Hemant said.
