Police say the crash happened just after 12:30 this afternoon near the sky manor airport in alexandria township.

Police say two people were on board the plane when it when down and both of them died at the scene.but investigators have not yet released the names of the victims. >>reporter:the f-a-a says two people were killed when a small plane, a mooney m20 stalled while landing on a runway at the sky manor airport, in alexandira township, new jersey.according to police at the scene, the plane went down just after 12:30 sunday afternoon, killing both people on board.

The f-a-a says the plane crashed into a field near the airport and was found wrapped around the side of a tree.

Investigators were on the scene for most of the afternoon but it wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash.no one on the ground was injured.the f-a-a, new jersey state police, local fire departments and ems crews all responded to the scene.>>john kuczynski, chief of detectives"at this time the aircraft was reportendly coming in for a landing and witnesses saw the aircraft go down, that's all we have right now."

This is the second plane crash to happen in the northeast sunday.earlier in the morning, three people died after two planes collided in the air over buffalo, ny.

The faa ,new jersey state police, and the hunterdon county prosecutors office are investigating the crash and may release more information tomorrow.investigators say the area around the airport will be closed while the investigation
