Ludhiana: Around 657 district schools have not submitted data regarding their institutes under the Unified District Information System for Education (U-DISE) survey.
The U-DISE survey records data on all parameters of education.
“The last date for the survey was February 10 which has now been extended to February 20,” said Vishal Kumar Mittal, coordinator of the MIS.
After many schools failed to upload the data, the MIS department sent a letter to the school heads and reminders daily to government, aided, private and central schools. Under the survey, information is being collected from schools under all categories.
Mittal said, “The U-DISE survey this year has been linked with the www.epunjabschoolportal by the education department so that schools need not upload information again on the portal. Schools have logged in to the portal with their username and password. The data which was earlier filled by the schools will be automatically seen after logging in the portal. Schools can update information on the portal and there is no need to submit hard copy.”
The information collected from U-DISE will be used for literacy rate and projects undertaken by the government.
Under the U-DISE, schools will have to upload information related to the number of working days in a year, class-wise result of the school, grants received and utilised by the school in 2019, details of the inspection teams that visited the school, number of teachers, number of students by age, caste and gender and plans.
In Ludhiana, there are 2,996 schools which include 1,527 government schools, 56 government-aided, 32 are under the National Child Labour Project, 3 adarsh schools, 4 central government school, 1 meritorious, 1 social welfare and others are private schools.
