Congress wishes BJP a "happy hug day"

NEW DELHI: As the world celebrates Hug Day, the Congress has sent a message of love to BJP — "hug don't hate".
The official Twitter handle of the Congress party tweeted a video along with a message — "Same message to BJP every year. Hug don't Hate. #HugDay"
The video starts with a quote from Mahatma Gandhi - "Hate the sin, love the sinner."

The video then features Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's speech in Parliament in which he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP and the RSS taught him what it means to be a Hindu and have also helped him understand Hinduism and Lord Shiva.
This is the same speech in which Rahul Gandhi then crosses the well of the House and hugs PM Modi, which became a huge controversy in July 2019.
The video then features another quote of Mahatma Gandhi: "A coward is incapable of exhibiting love and it is the prerogative of the brave."
The video also includes another speech by Rahul Gandhi at an event where he said that "he can hug and fight Narendra Modi" while choosing not to hate him because "hate is a choice" and he does need hate to contest against PM Modi.
It is to be noted that world over, 'Valentine's week' is being celebrated which starts on February 7 and ends with celebration of Valentine's Day on February 14. The seven days of the week are celebrated as rose day, hug day, kiss day etc. to mark various expressions and gestures of love.
