Fire breaks out in storeroom of house, major tragedy averted

Ludhiana: A fire incident was reported in a house in Rose Enclave locality. The material kept in the storeroom of the house has been gutted.
The fire brigade acted in time and controlled the fire. The fire officials claimed that the stock of decoration and packing material was kept in the storeroom where the fire incident took place.
The house was under renovation, so the family members were staying elsewhere. Nobody has been injured in the incident.
According to information, the fire incident took place in the afternoon on Tuesday. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the situation.
The house is in thickly populated residential area. The fire brigade stationed fire tenders in the street and supplied water with the help of pipes. The storeroom was built on the terrace of the building and the fire had spread in half portion of the storeroom.
S N Sharma, fire station officer, said the situation was under control and they handled it in time.
He said if the fire had spread to other parts of the house then it would have resulted into a major disaster.
He said plastic and cardboard material was kept inside the storeroom so there was black smoke all around. He said they saved some stock as well.
“Four fire tenders were used in controlling the fire,” he added.
Meanwhile, a scare was created among the residents living in the lane.
