TIRUPATI: On the first day of his
Kurnool district tour on Wednesday, Janasena chief
Pawan Kalyan demanded justice for the 14-year-old tribal girl who was brutally raped and murdered at
Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy school on August 19, 2017.
It was only on Tuesday, that Kurnool SP Kaginelli Fakeerappa had announced that following the orders of the state home minister and DGP, the investigation into the rape and murder of a tribal girl at Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy school was being handed over to the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Accompanied by the family members of the victim, the actor-turned-politician launched a massive rally at Rajvihar circle in Kurnool demanding speedy probe and justice in the case.
Addressing a public meeting Kotla circle, Pawan Kalyan pointed out that despite three years gone after the brutal rape and murder, justice remains elusive. "I was moved by the plight of the parents of the girl who visited me at the Janasena office at
Mangalagiri recently. I assured them that I will fight for them until justice is rendered," asserted the Janasena chief.
Accusing the political leaders of trying to thwart the progress of the investigation of the case by hushing up forensic and postmortem reports, the Janasena chief underlined that the criminal justice system in the country continues to still favour the mighty and the powerful, while it is only the poor who gets punished.
"Despite evidences in place that the 14-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered, the postmortem reports confirming the girl was raped and forensic evidences substantiating the heinous crime, the accused are still roaming around freely as the case investigating officers danced to the tunes of the political leaders who could stall the progress of the case at freewill," alleged Pawan Kalyan.
The actor-turned-politician questioned CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who was hell bent upon reversing every single decision of the TDP regime, has not taken corrective steps in the investigation of the rape and
murder case. "The incident took place when TDP was in power and it is being alleged that TDP leaders were involved in the heinous crime. In that case, why doesn't CM YS Jagan take corrective steps now and render justice to the family of the victim," questioned the Janasena chief.
The Janasena chief warned the government that protests would further intensify if there was any political interference in the investigation of the case or if there is further delay in bringing the culprits to book.
