Patparganj results: Close fight for Manish Sisodia

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia is contesting against Ravi Negi of the BJP and Laxman Rawat of the Congress

Sisodia won the Patparganj assembly constituency by comfortable margins in 2013 and 2015. In 2015, he defeated Vinod Kumar Binny of the BJP by a margin of 28,761 votes . The previous time, he defeat ed BJP's Nakul Bhardwaj by 11,476 votes. The seat was won by the Congress in the three elections before that.

Patparganj assembly constituency has been a part of East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency since 1993, and remained so after the delimitation of 2008.

Sisodia, who is the No:2 in the Delhi cabinet is called the 'de facto CM' by many because of his role in running the day-to-day administration while chief Arvind Kejriwal also worked on building the party. He held the Education, Finance, Planning, Tourism, Land & Building, Services, Women & Child, Art, Culture & Languages portfolios.

Sisodia started his career as a journalist, before becoming a social activist with Kejriwal's NGO Parivartan which was carrying out a crusade against corruption. When Aam Aadmi Party was formed in 2012, he became a member of its political affairs committee
