Delhi election result 2020: Richest candidate Dharampal Lakra is leading over AAP\'s Azad Singh with 736 votes

The Aam Aadmi Party’s Dharampal Lakra is the richest candidate is leading from the Mundka constituency over AAP's Azad Singh with over 700 votes, according to Election Commission.

He declared assets worth ₹292 crore, according to PTI.

Lakra’s movable assets are worth ₹3.24 crore and his wife owns another ₹13.57 lakhs. He along with his wife has immovable assets worth ₹288 crore, as per his affidavit. He is contesting against BJP’s Azad Singh and Congress’ Naresh Kumar.

Lakra, who was born and brought up in Mundka village in West Delhi, is an agriculturalist and derives his income from business and interest on bank deposits.

He is among the 24 new faces fielded by AAP in this election. He replaced AAP’s sitting MLA Sukhbir Singh Dala for the upcoming elections. He will be fighting the election for the first time.

Arvind Kejriwal led-AAP has four of the top ten richest candidates in this election. Other candidates in the list are AAP's incumbent MLA from RK Puram Pramila Tokas, who will again contest from the same seat, with declared assets of ₹80 crore. AAP's Hari Nagar candidate Rajkumari Dhillon's declared assets are worth over ₹51 crore.

Dhanwati Chandela, AAP candidate from Rajouri Garden, also has declared assets of close to ₹55 crore.
