Natasha Poonawalla to chair the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India

One of the most celebrated businesswomen of India, Natasha Poonawalla, known for using her platform to raise a voice for social causes, is adding yet another philanthropic feather to her hat

Last weekend at the Royal Annual Dinner, which saw the presence of prominent supporters of the Trust including Katy Perry (who was named the trust ambassador) and global business leaders, Indian philanthropist Natasha Poonawalla was announced as the Chair of the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India, by Prince Charles of Wales.

When asked about her future endeavours as the chair, Poonawalla expressed, “Last year the British Asian Trust made great progress through their Child Labour Free Jaipur programme. I am pleased to be supporting their ambitious plans for the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India which will serve as another tool in the fight against child trafficking.” Founded in 2007 by Royal Patron Prince Charles, in collaboration with eminent British Asian business leaders, The Fund has been instrumental in combating child-trafficking, improving livelihoods, and education across the South Asian diaspora.

Announcing its plan for the next five years, The British Asian Trust aims to substantially reduce child trafficking and abuse across India.
