PATNA: A Class XII student was killed in a
road accident when she was on her way to
Dulhin Bazaar to appear for the Intermediate examination being conducted by
Bihar School Examination Board on Tuesday morning. The incident took place near Aspura Lock under Bikram police station.
According to police sources,
Kajal Kumari was going to appear for the philosophy paper in second shift (1.45pm to 5pm) at Banshidhari Uchh Vidyalaya at Bharatpura area under Dulhin Bazaar police station. Kajal was the daughter of one
Rajesh Kumar from Kallu Chetni under Naubatpur police station.
Bikram SHO Ramakant told this newspaper that Kajal was on riding pillion with his uncle
Rajiv Kumar, who lost balance of his bike near Aspura. “Kajal fell on the road and a speeding fuel tanker coming from behind ran over the girl while her uncle escaped unhurt,” he said and added: “The body was later handed over to her family members.”
The police arrested the tanker driver, Sanjay Kumar, a native of Arwal district, and sent him to jail under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of IPC.
The tanker was coming from Haldia after loading the gas and was heading towards Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
