Share market update: Metal shares shine; JSPL climbs 3%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 3.08 per cent), JSW Steel (up 3.04 per cent), Tata Steel (up 2.19 per cent), Steel Authority of India (up 1.96 per cent), MOIL (up 1.95 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 1.41 per cent), VEDL (up 1.35 per cent), Welspun Corp (up 0.7 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (up 0.68 per cent), NMDC Ltd (up 0.66 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 0.41 per cent) and Coal India (up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 1.4 per cent up at 2665.75 around 10:32 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119 points at 12150.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 385.92 points at 41365.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, ITC, NALCO, SBI, GAIL, BHEL and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
