Rajasthan: 9 killed in jeep-bus collision in Bhilwara

JAIPUR: As many as nine people died while 10 others sustained injuries when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a RSRTC bus late on Monday in Bhilwara district. The accident happened near Bigod on Kota-Bhilwara highway.
The police said the passengers travelling in the bus were returning from Bhilwara to Madhya Pradesh after attending a wedding ceremony.
“The accident happened at around 10pm on Monday. All the injured people have been shifted to the government hospital in Bhilwara,” said Vinod Kumar, deputy superintendent of police.
“Deeply saddened to know of a terrible road accident in Mandalgarh(Bhilwara) in which many lives have been lost. My thoughts & prayers are with bereaved families. May God give them strength to bear this loss. Have directed officials to ensure the best possible treatment to injured,” tweeted chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
