GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Sammitee (KMSS) chief
Akhil Gogoi, who was held on December 16 during the anti-CAA protests and has been booked under UAPA, was sent to 14-day judicial custody for the third time since his arrest by a special NIA court in Guwahati on Monday.
Along with Gogoi, three other KMSS leaders -
Dhaijya Konwar,
Bitu Sonowal and Manas
Konwar - were also produced in court on Monday and sent to 14-day judicial custody.
"The court has fixed February 25 as the next date of hearing. Till then, they will be again lodged in
Guwahati Central Jail," said
Santanu Borthakur, the advocate representing the leaders.
While on his way to the court and office of the special judge, Gogoi told reporters that the agitation against the CAA should be 'solution-oriented'. He added, "This should not be a movement just for the sake of having a movement. It should be solution-oriented. And a solution-oriented movement should be such that it puts pressure on the government."
