THANE: Panchpakhadi corporator Narayan Pawar (BJP) was arrested after he surrendered before Kasarvadavali
police on Monday morning in an extortion case filed against him by a builder in 2015.
Pawar had applied for bail before lower courts but failed to get relief. He then sought reprieve from Supreme
Court, which too rejected his plea. He went absconding only to turn up before police on Monday.
"Pawar has been granted police custody for three days. His aides Salim Saddumiyan Shaikh, Ramrao M Gurala and Pradeep Madhuka Burke, who were arrested earlier, were granted bail by SC long back," said senior inspector Kishore Khairnar. tnn
