Property manager, 38, fronts court accused of trying to extort $150k from a married businessman she was having an affair - as he wins right to keep his identity secret

A property manager has appeared in court after allegedly demanding $150,000 from a married businessman she had an affair with.

Rachel Lorraine Roche fronted Perth Magistrates Court accused of attempting to extort money by threatening to tell her lover's wife about their relationship.

Lawyers for the businessman argued for the amendment of an order to allow media to report on the case, while not identifying their client.

The West Australian reported Deputy Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Woods agreed and media will be able to attend the next hearing.

The identity of the businessman, in his 50s, is suppressed. 

Ms Roche is enduring legal more legal drama outside the alleged blackmail case, appearing in court in January accused of owing $9,899 in rent for a property in Perth.

The 38-year-old has been renting the $1100-a-week four-bedroom home in Peppermint Grove since May last year, with Mack Hall Real Estate looking to terminate her lease and retrieve the alleged debt. 

Ms Roche told Fremantle Magistrate’s Court she was 'all for' reaching an agreement with the landlord outside court. 

A trial hearing is for that matter is scheduled for May 6.
