Thousands participate in ‘Run for Merit’

Youths and elders joined in large numbers at the 3km run on Sunday
Nagpur: Thousands of students, youths and elders participated in the ‘Run for Merit’ — a three km run — organized in the city by state-level forum of Save Merit Save Nation (SMSN) on Sunday.
The run started from Saint Ursula’s High School ground at 7.30am. SMSN state president Dr Anil Laddhad claimed that more than 4,000 students of various schools and colleges participated in it.
Similar runs were organized in 25 cities across the state including Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Jalna, Solapur and Latur the same day.
Arjun awardees, special achievers in education, national sports personalities and prominent citizens flagged off the run in Nagpur. The activity started with Zumba dance to promote exercise while a band of Umiya School also performed. A free blood pressure and blood-sugar check-up camp was organized for runners at the venue.
Dr Laddhad, Raju Morone, Vivek Bhore, Vinod Fafat, Gopal Laddhad, Amit Siroya, Sumeet Bagri, Sarang Paranjape, Sandeep Khirwadkar, Jaiprakash Parekh, Raj Agnani, Vivek Bhalerao, Aniruddha Gurjalwar, Rasmkisan Gupta, Meeta Gupta and others were present.
