Barcelona 'lower Coutinho asking price'

Barcelona have reportedly dropped the asking price for Philippe Coutinho to £77m.

This comes according to Express Sport who claim the Catalan giants are ready to offload the playmaker.

Liverpool have also been mentioned in the report as a potential destination for the Brazilian.

Coutinho departed Anfield in January 2018 for the bright lights of La Liga but it didn’t quite work out for the 27-year-old who is now on loan at Bayern Munich.

Alisson Becker has thanked his Brazil side Fluminense for allowing him to use their facilities to train during the winter break.

The Liverpool goalkeeper trained alongside his brother Muriel Becker and his godson at the Rio de Janeiro based club.

Alisson shared pictures from his time in Brazil with a caption which read: “I would like to thank @fluminensefc for the affection I received from everyone who is part of the club, during my ‘week off’ where I had the pleasure of training with my brother @murielgbecker and my godson”

Peter Moore on Coutinho

Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has been discussing Philippe Coutinho’s exit from the club.

Moore told soccerladuma: “When Philippe Coutinho left there was a change, not only to the structure of the team but to the way we played football.

“If you recall, when he left two years ago, then it was a complete change of style of play and we [hardly] lost a game over the balance of the season.

“No disrespect to Philippe but he had a different style of play...The money came in and the money we got from Barcelona then helped fund Alisson Becker.”

Jose Mourinho 'wants to sign' Adam Lallana

Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

The midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season and it now looks as though he could depart the club as a free agent.

There are a number of clubs including Arsenal, Leicester and West Ham all said to interested in the 31-year-old.

But reports in Spain suggest the Tottenham manager is interested in acquiring Lallana on a Bosman deal.

The number 20 arrived at Anfield from Southampton in 2014 and has made 175 appearances for the club.

Sadio Mane boost

Sadio Mane has handed Liverpool a huge boost as he looks set to make his return to full fitness.

The Senegal superstar shared this video with fans on Instagram where he looks as though he has made a recovery from the muscle injury he suffered against Wolves.

Pep Guardiola shocked

Pep Guardiola is shocked by Liverpool’s huge lead in the race for the Premier League title.

The Man City boss said: “We have a big rival 22 points ahead and that’s not good.

“We did something incredible and Liverpool is doing it now.

“We cannot deny the distance is big: 22 points. We didn’t expect it but we have to respect it.”

Havertz and Coutinho

Kai Havertz will reportedly be Liverpool’s top transfer target this summer.

The Express claim the Reds are interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen star who has impressed in central midfield this term.

They also suggest if a prospective deal for Havertz falls through the Reds might instead target former playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Okay, so Havertz has been linked in the past no real shock there. But a return for Coutinho? That does seem increasingly bizarre.

Liverpool are a different beast now and Coutinho leaving helped with that.

A move for Havertz would make more sense considering he is just 20 and has bags of potential.
