The body of a man has been found at a popular beach, south of Sydney.  

The unidentified man was discovered on the shoreline of North Beach, in Wollongong around 6.15am on Tuesday.  

Emergency services have established a crime scene and are investigating the death. 

It is unknown how the person died and the body is yet to be formally identified.
