Man arrested over Lara stabbing death
A man has been arrested over a stabbing death in Lara in the early hours of Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to Patullos Road just after midnight to treat a man with stab wounds, but paramedics were unable to save him.
Another man was arrested at the scene and is assisting police.
Police believe the two men are known to each other.
In a separate incident overnight, police shot at a man who allegedly ran at officers with what was believed to be a machete.
Police had been called to Ashleigh Avenue in Frankston just before 9pm, when the man allegedly rushed at officers.
One of the officers then shot at the man, however he was not hit. The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was then capsicum sprayed and arrested.
He was taken to hospital for assessment. The officers were not injured.Regional detectives will investigate the incident and the Professional Standards Command has been notified.
