Nagpur: Lecturer set ablaze by stalker dies during treatment

NAGPUR: Ankita Pisudde, the 24-year-old woman lecturer, who was set ablaze in Maharashtra's Wardha district, died during treatment at Nagpur's Orange City Hospital & Research Centre on Thursday morning.
Pisudde, a resident of Hinganghat in Wardha district, was allegedly set ablaze by one Vikesh Nagrale (27) on Monday on the way to her college.
A bulletin released by the hospital at 7.43am on Monday informed that the victim succumed to burns. She was on ventilator since Friday late evening.
The victim, a post-graduate in Botany was completing her B Ed degree.
Pisudde was admitted to the hospital with 40 per cent burns, mostly affecting the upper part of her body. She had remained critical ever since.
The doctors had earlier stated that the oxygen level in her blood had decreased alarmingly. The blood pressure too was fluctuating drastically.
The hospital authorities have informed the family. District administration and police department in Wardha and Nagpur have been alerted too.
Nagrale, arrested after the incident, is lodged in Wardha jail. He would now be booked for murder, said police.
