Former Team India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has named three batsmen who actually have the capability to score a double century in the shortest format of the game according to him.
During an interview with Sport360, Yuvi claimed that scoring a ton in T20Is is very tough in the first place, let alone smashing a double century.
However, according to the veteran allrounder, West Indies' Chris Gayle and South Africa's AB de Villiers are the two players in world cricket who actually have the firepower in their bat to achieve this feat.
“It (T20 double ton) is very tough I feel. But it is not impossible I would say. With the way the game of cricket is going these days, I feel nothing is impossible," Yuvraj said.
"So let us wait and hope for the best. Well, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers (South Africa) have retired from international cricket, oh wait, Gayle is still playing I forgot," he added.
Yuvraj himself is quite renowned for his hard-hitting in T20I cricket. How can anyone forget when he smacked Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during the T20I World Cup back in 2007 when India took on England in the tournament.
The former cricketer also claimed that other than Gayle and de Villiers, India's Rohit Sharma is the only other name he can back to score a double ton in T20Is.
"In my eyes, these were the two guys who could have scored a double hundred in T20I cricket."
"Rohit Sharma would be the third guy I can think of when it comes to a double T20 ton,” Yuvraj added.
