Biryani is a one-pot rice dish cooked with different kinds of meats, chicken and mutton being two of the most popular options. Now, biryani being biryani, the discussion attracted people from all over the country to give their valuable remarks. He added that any biryani that is not Hyderabadi is just a poor imitation of it.

A twitter user tweeted saying, “Kolkata biryani with Aloo is the biggest scam after 2G scam.” To which journalist Rohini Singh agreed and tweeted “Agree. Worse than a 2G scam. And dare I say the over-spiced Hyderabadi biryani too. No one makes biryani the way it is made in homes in Lucknow- fragrant, delicate tasting and just pure deliciousness” along with taking a jibe at the Hyderabadi biryani. She also revealed that she admired Lucknowi biryani because of its smooth flavours and fragrant, light taste calling it “indeed the food of kings”.

Following this, famous food critic Vir Sanghvi also joined this ongoing repartee and kept forward his biryani preferences. Giving Hyderabadi the lowest rank, he said that he could eat Kerala biryani every day, Lucknowi biryani once every month and Kolkata biryani once every month.
