Chandigarh: One held for assaulting woman

CHANDIGARH: Maloya police have arrested one person for allegedly assaulting and sexually harassing a woman and her brother at her home on Sunday. However, the other accused in the case are on the run.
The police said the accused would be produced before a local court on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Peeru, a resident of Maloya.
In her complaint, a 18 year-old-woman alleged that the accused, Peeru, with three other persons arrived at her home and asked the complainant about her younger sister. The complainant told them that she didn't know about her and would not call her. The accused started abusing her and later they allegedly assaulted her.
She said the accused tore her shirt and sexually harassed her. She raised an alarm and after hearing her scream, her brother who was present in the house, rushed to help his sister and the accused also thrashed him. tnn
