KOZHIKODE:
Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (
KNM) has lashed out at the Church in
Kerala for spreading lies on the issue of '
love jihad'.
KNM state convention held here on Sunday felt that the Church is indulging in double-speak by preaching secularism for public consumption and spreading communalism among the community members.
The meeting asked all those concerned to immediately end spreading false propaganda on love jihad. Welcoming the Supreme Court's observation in the issue, KNM said looking at interreligious marriages from a communal angle will have dangerous consequences in society.
All those who raised allegations of love jihad had withdrawn from the scene one by one without providing any proof for the allegation, it said. "It is not fair for the Church to make irresponsible comments at this juncture," the KNM conference said, adding that it is heartening to see reactions against the allegations from within the Christian community itself.
The conference believed that the allegations on love jihad would only provide weapon to those who are desperately trying to create a division in the joint agitations against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
Though the Muslims will be the initial victims of CAA, the eventual targets of the Hindutva fascism will be Dalits, adivasis and Christians, KNM said.
The meeting also exhorted to isolate vested interests that are trying to capitalize from the joint agitations against CAA.
KNM state president T P Abdulla Koya Madani, inaugurated the meeting. General secretary M Muhammad Madani, H E Muhammad Babu Sait, Noor Muhammad Noorsha, Hussein Madavoor, A I Abdul Majeed Swalahi and others too attended the convention.
