Act against culprits harassing entrepreneurs: Dy CM to police

PUNE: Pune Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, in a review meeting of the officers, took up the cause of frequent complaints of harassment of industrial units in the industrial estates in the district. He directed the police officials to take strict action against the culprits under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (MCOCA).

A review meeting of various departments were held in the city on Saturday, which was chaired by Pawar. Labour Minister Dilip Walse Patil, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Mhaisekar, Pune Police Commissioner K Venkatesham, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Sandeep Bishnoi, Pune Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, PMRDA Commissioner Vikram Kumar, District Collector Naval Kishore Ram and  Zilha Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad were also present.

Pawar said there are large number of foreign investors in the industrial estates in Pune area. But incidents of harassment have seen a rise affecting the businesses. Therefore, strict action should be taken against those who harass these entrepreneurs. He urged industrialists to donate their CSR funds for local work.

Sakal Media Group Chairman Pratap Pawar, Prashant Gribane, Mukesh Malhotra, Surendra Kumar Jain, retired Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale were also present on the occasion.
