BJP vows protests against rollback of Das govt schemes

Ranchi: BJP on Monday criticized the Hemant Soren government’s reported decision to discontinue the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna launched by former chief minister Raghubar Das. State BJP spokesperson Pratul Sahdeo said, “The state government is planning to discontinue public welfare projects like the Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna to divert people’s attentions from its failures. The mahagathbandhan government has failed to fulfil its promise of loan waivers and other projects for farmers. The Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna was meant to give financial assistance to farmers and help them achieve economic stability.”
BJP said it will launch protests against any move to discontinue the scheme. “We have pledged to play the role of a pro-active opposition. This secision will harm farmers and push them back into the grip of moneylenders. We will oppose this decison with all our might.”
BJP also accused the state government of misreporting the facts about the financial status of the treasury to cover-up their inadequacies. Sahdeo said: “The Raghubar Das government had spent most of its budgetary outlay on public welfare projects. But now, this government claims that the state coffers are empty. After being elected, CM Hemant Soren spent a long time in Delhi discussing portfolio sharing with the Congress top brass while tax collection lagged in the state. Now, the same state government is making baseless allegations against the last BJP-led government to cover up its failures. These tactics are a means to hide the fact that the mahagathbandhan parties, which had made tall promises to the people before elections, do not have any intention of keeping their word.”
Blaming the Mahagathbandhan government for a rise in Left Wing Extremism-related incidents, Sahdeo said: “As soon as the new government took over, LWE incidents are on the rise. On Sunday, naxals resorted to arson at Chandwa station in Latehar. Along with the general masses, traders and businessmen are living in fear because of the number of extortion calls made by these extremists have shot up again.”
