Manchester United received some positive injury news yesterday on their first day of training in their warm weather camp in Marbella.

The Red Devils have flown out to Spain during their winter break to prepare for the Premier League fixture with Chelsea on February 17. Paul Pogba, Lee Grant and Marcus Rashford are not with the group through injury, while Lee Grant is to undergo surgery so also hasn't travelled.

McTominay has been out since Boxing Day, but took part in a light session away from the main squad in Marbella as he steps up his recovery. He was joined by Axel Tuanzebe, who has also been suffering from injury, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah also took part in an individual session.

January signing Bruno Fernandes was also pictured in training as he gets the opportunity to gel with his new teammates.

United pre-season tour plans 'on hold'

It’s around this time of year that the club will announce where they plan to head on pre-season tour but ESPN reports plans are hold due to coronavirus.

United have discussed the possibility of returning to Asia this summer but talks have stalled while the club seek advice about the virus, which has infected more than 40,000 people globally, mostly in China, the report states.

The club spent part of their tour in China last year and the suggestion is they could be heading back there again this summer with potential other fixtures in India and elsewhere in Asia.

Alan Shearer thinks United will 'cut their losses with Paul Pogba'

The midfielder is keen to leave and Shearer thinks it’s time for the France international to move on.

It’s crunch time for Paul Pogba’s career at Manchester United. Either commit and sign another deal, or sell,” he wrote in his column for The Sun.

My guess is United will cut their losses and try to move on from a four-year spell which was not what either party planned.

I think he probably feels a little bit let down by what’s gone on at United, it’s a mess on both sides. When he signed he was supposed to be the start of a rebuild — the glory days returning. The club have not delivered on their promises, so it’s not the deal he signed up for.

Pogba has had injuries but United have never seen the best of the midfielder, either. The club want around £150million, whether they’ll get that sort of money depends on him coming back into the team this season and then playing well in the Euros.

Another good save from the on loan United goalkeeper.

Ramsey to United 'makes sense' according to pundit

Aaron Ramsey moving to United would make perfect sense according to former Chelsea striker turned pundit Tony Cascarino,

The former Arsenal man has longstanding links with moves to Old Trafford and back in 2008 it was announced on the club’s website they had agreed a deal for the then 17-year-old who was playing for Cardiff. And Cascarino, writing in his column in The Times thinks he could make a Premier League return next season.

“Ramsey would be the perfect fit for United,” he said.

“Ramsey played in Juventus’ defeat away to Verona on Saturday but it was fairly typical of his first season in Italy as he came on as a substitute and didn’t have an impact on the game.

“I can see the former Arsenal man back in the Premier League next season. Reports linking him to Manchester United make a lot of sense as he is the sort of player they need – a proven midfielder with goalscoring pedigree and plenty of Premier League experience.

“I could see him not costing too much, with Juventus possibly settling for £20 million as that would get them most of their outlay back.”

McTominay gives his verdict on Bruno Fernandes

McTominay has had the chance to see his new teammate close up during their winter training camp in Spain .

Yeah, in the brief moments that I have seen him in training, he has looked really, really good,” he told manutd.com

“He has looked like every type of player that the manager wants as well, so hopefully that can come to us on the pitch and he can show us what he can do. I can’t wait to play alongside him.

Jordan Pickford slams Manchester United great Gary Neville

Jordan Pickford has hit out at Gary Neville over criticism he has received from the former Manchester United defender in the past.

“The press and everybody, the punters — look at Gary Neville,” Pickford said. “They just want to come for England players. Everyone gets stick. That’s part of being an England player. You have to live with it, you’ve got to learn.

“You just keep it away from your head as the only person who can sort things out is yourself, on the pitch and in training. Every England player gets stick. Some get a lot more praise than others. Look at Joe Hart when he was No 1. He got pelters every week.

“It’s easy to see. Everyone hates you, for some reason. I just get on with it. I know what I’m capable of and I know what I’m good at. Yeah, it hurts.

“I know I have been good for England. It’s funny because everyone raves about you when you are with England, but then you go back to your club and everyone wants to slate you. I don’t let it affect me. But it does p*** you off.”

Jordan Pickford on Dean Henderson pressure

On loan United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is being tipped to take the No 1 shirt from Pickford for England ahead of this summer’s Euro’s.

When asked specifically about the challenge Henderson is mounting, Pickford said:

“It doesn’t really affect me. He’ll do what he’ll do and I’ll do what I’ll do.”When asked specifically about the challenge Henderson is mounting, Pickford said: “It doesn’t really affect me. He’ll do what he’ll do and I’ll do what I’ll do.”

Jack Grealish dominated weekend transfer rumours

If you had a weekend off football chat then you may have missed the latest transfer reports regarding Jack Grealish.

Solskjaer will still look to bring another midfielder in during the summer transfer window, despite signing Fernandes last month, and Grealish is one of a number of names on the shortlist.

However, reports over the weekend suggest they would face a fight to land the Aston Villa man with The Sun reportind, Real Madrid and Barcelona are ‘tracking the exciting 24-year-old as they identify their top transfer targets for the summer. Other reports also claimed Man City are keen on the 24-year-old and that he will have his pick over who he wants to join.

Josh King on a potential move to United

The former United academy player was a target for the club in the last couple of days in the transfer window and he was asked how close he came to joining.

“How close it was I have no complete answer to. I have to watch what I say,” King told TV2 after Bournemouth lost against Sheffield United.

“I had some faith that it was going to happen. And it was a bit sensitive for me considering that I moved to England as a 16-year-old to achieve my dream and wanted to reach that goal at Manchester United.

“It did not [happen] and then I made a choice and left. When you hear that you are connected to United and a bid comes in, then the feelings you had as a 16-year-old come back to you.

“But why it did not happen, I do not know. I’m a Bournemouth player and I really enjoy it here. But it had been a dream come true, I will not lie.”

United sent Chelsea warning

United’s next game is a week today against Chelsea and former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has warned United their top four challenge will be over if they lose.

“I don’t think it’s win or bust but you could lean towards it being lose or bust,” he said on Sky Sports.

“I think it’s a must not lose. The gap will be a little bit far to catch up if they lose, but not win or bust no. They’re not far off and Chelsea will be looking to this with Tottenham breathing down their necks and they’re at home they both had a week’s break so it will be a very important game for both sides. For Chelsea and Frank Lampard they will be looking to get breathing space between them and the chasing sides.

“In terms of Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) they’re not far off at all and what a physiological boost it would be if they could win at Stamford Bridge, especially given the signing of Bruno Fernandes. It’s a massive game for both sides.

Daniel James reveals how Bruno Fernandes is settling in

James has spoken about how his new teammate is fitting in during the training camp in Spain.

Yeah he is settling in great. I know quite a few of the boys speak his language and he speaks great English as well,” he told MUTV.

So I think as soon as he came in he put his stamp on the game and he showed what he is about in that last game, on his debut. He was great, with the balls he played in behind and, for me, if we can get that bond, especially playing it in behind, I think that will be great.

United warned over Paul Pogba transfer decision

Liverpool and Manchester City will be interested in a transfer for Paul Pogba if he leaves Manchester United at the end of the season.

That’s the view of former Premier League striker Darren Bent, who believes Pogba is too often the scapegoat at United but will show his true class elsewhere.

MEN Sport understands Pogba intends to leave Old Trafford in the summer, when his current contract will have just 12 months remaining on it. The World Cup winner has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and a return to Juventus and Bent believes he has the quality to shine at Europe’s top teams.

“When you talk about Manchester United selling him, I think there’s going to be a whole host of teams lining up to get him,” he said.
