PUNE: The Regional Transport Office of Pune (RTO) has increased the quota of number of tests for three-wheeler permits at Alandi Road RTO from 40 to 80.

According to information shared by Ajit Shinde, RTO Pune, “The quota for the number of tests for permits of auto-rickshaws, goods tempo and other three-wheelers has been increased. The tests will be conducted at Alandi Road RTO.”

The number of waiting period had crossed the 200-mark for auto-rickshaws. The auto drivers were unable to drive their three-wheelers unless their permits were renewed. Many auto-rickshaw drivers, goods tempo drivers and other three-wheelers owners had approached the RTO and requested them to increase the quota. The demand had been pending since last six months.

“The purpose of increasing the quota is to reduce the waiting list. Earlier, it was 30 for auto-rickshaws and 10 for three-wheeler goods vehicles. Now it has increased by 30 and 20 respectively,” he said.
