Kerala: P Parameswaran's funeral in Muhamma today

KOCHI: The funeral of RSS ideologue and Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram director P Parameswaran, who died in Mayannur near Ottapalam on Saturday, will be held at his home in Muhamma, Alappuzha on Monday afternoon.
Parameswaran (93), who was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 2018, was undergoing treatment at an ayurvedic hospital in Ottapalam. He died at the house of K Sasikumar, secretary of Nila Seva Samithi, around 12 midnight on Saturday. On Sunday, his body was kept at the RSS state karyalaya in Kochi from 6am to 4pm for public to pay respects. The body was later taken to Thiruvananthapuram, where it will be kept at Samskrithi Bhavan on Monday for paying homage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, governor Arif Mohammad Khan and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan were among those who mourned the death.
