PUNE: A 30-year-old man from Parbhani district surrendered before the Bhosari police in the early hours of Monday after hacking his brother-in-law to death with a sharp weapon.
Vishnu Jagade murdered his brother-in-law, Mohan Levade (45), on the latter’s terrace in Dhavade Vasti at Ganeshnagar in Bhosari around 2am. Probe revealed Jagade killed Levade as the latter was allegedly harassing his sister, Nanda. She lodged an FIR against him with Bhosari police.
Assistant inspector Siddheshwar Kailase of the Bhosari police said Levade stayed in Dhavade Vasti. His wife suspected he was having an affair as he was harassing her. “When Jagade came to know of it, he came to Bhosari around two days ago to sort out the issue,” Kailase said.
On Sunday night, Levade and Jagade had dinner on the former’s terrace. Then they discussed the issue again and got into a heated argument. Around 2am, Jagade hacked Levade to death when he was sleeping.
Jagade, a dailywager, was arrested under the charges of murder, the assistant inspector said.
