Saraswati river flowing underground in Rajasthan: Union minister

JAISALMER: Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said Saraswati river is flowing under this part of the land and its existence has been proven.
“Scientifically it has been confirmed that Saraswati river is flowing beneath the ground. In addition, there are many streams that flow under the ground which directly connect the Himalaya glacier to the sea,” Shekhawat said.
Speaking about PM Narendra Modi’s dream project Namami Gange, he said work was going on mission mode. He said people during the last Kumbh Mela had felt it that Gangotri water in Haridwar could be used for consumption.
Discussing about stopping water to Pakistan, he said India and Pakistan had signed the Indus water treaty. PM had already announced that now it was not possible that terrorism and water could flow together. “All preparations have been done to stop the flow of water to Pakistan,” he said.
The Union minister said many technical studies were done in which the existence of Saraswati river flowing underground had been proved.
The minister said the Congress government in Rajasthan had cheated the farmers and did not waive off their loans.
“The youth are also feeling cheated as the promise of unemployment allowance has not been fulfilled. The state has also hiked power tariff. People have lost faith in this government,” he added.
He said the Congress had become irrelevant in the country.
