85 corporates participate in industry-academic meet

Vadodara/ Anand: The university industry interaction cell (UIIC) of Changa-based Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) and the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) jointly organized third gala industry-academia meet on Saturday.
The meet was organized on ‘synergetic approach towards industry 4.0’ in which more than 70 innovative projects were displayed before 85-odd representatives from the corporate world.
The university has already filed 22 patents.
“The meet encouraged the industries to join hands with the innovative projects of the university and commercializing them for the benefits of society,” said a CHARUSAT official, adding that the university’s faculty members also interacted with experts from industries during the meet.
An MoU between CHARUSAT’s Space Research and Technology Centre and J K Laxmi Cement (JKLC) was also signed in presence of Habib Shah, senior general manager of grinding unit and Sanjeev Shroff, deputy general manager – both from JKLC and Ashok Patel, vice-president of Kelavani Mandal from CHARUSAT.
The university has established UIIC with an aim to design curriculum based on demand from the industry and provide a platform to students, faculty members and industries .
