Rajkot:
Two rape cases,
one involving a 16-year-old minor,
were reported in Rajkot on Sunday.In the first case, the 16-year-old survivor was befriended by accused Satyajeetsinh Zala on Instagram. According to the police, Zala forced the minor to accompany him to Madhapar Chowkadi and Morbi Road bypass on January 22 evening.
“Zala allegedly forced himself on the girl and tried to assault her sexually. He then allegedly threatened to kill her, if she complained about the incident to anyone. The survivor studies in Class XI,” said N B Dodia, sub-inspector with Rajkot mahila police station.
In the second case, accused Jaideep Dav, raped a 23-year-old woman after lying about his marital status.
According to police, Dav and the survivor became friends in 2019. He allegedly kept his marital status hidden from the survivor, and told her that he was divorcee and also developed physical relationship with her. He signed a registration form declaring himself to be married to the survivor before having physical relationship.
“When the survivor learnt about the deception and confronted him, Dav allegedly beat her up in an inebriated state,” said H J Barwadia of University police station.
Apart from Dav, the survivor has accused Ajay Bhadarka, Darshan Dhranga and Anil Badhia of aiding Dav in the crime. Following this, the trio, too, has been booked.
