Two, including woman held for thefts

Vadodara: Laxmipura police on Sunday arrested a resident of Gotri for stealing a laptop and other valuables from a car. Manoj Padhiyar, who stays in Mali Faliyu, had broken window glasses of a car parked in Gorwa and stolen the laptop worth Rs 35,000, passbook and LIC premium receipt.
Police had received information that a man was moving suspiciously near Gayatri Party Plot in Laxmipura on Sunday. When they caught and questioned him, Manoj admitted to have committed the theft.
In another incident, the detection of crime branch (DCB) has arrested a woman with a stolen gold chain. Crime branch sleuths said that they received tip-off about the woman Laxmi Thakor, a resident of Kheda district. She was booked by the Navapura police some time ago for stealing a gold chain worth Rs 24,300 from the victim.
Thakor has been handed over to the Navapura police that is now investigating if she had committed any other crimes.
