A woman driving a nursery tractor was severely injured when her clothes got caught in the prop shaft on Sunday morning, paramedics said. 

Netcare911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the 58-year-old woman was pulled into the tractor in the incident at Wonderboom in Pretoria. 

"Medics assessed the scene and found the lady had sustained an almost complete amputation of the left leg," said Herbst.

She was treated on the scene by an advanced life support paramedic and taken to hospital by helicopter for further treatment.
