Noida: Protest after woman dies during surgery

NOIDA: Family members of a 48-year-old woman, who allegedly died during a gallstone surgery, staged a protest outside a private hospital in Sector 35 on Saturday morning.
Angry family members placed the body of Latesh Jatav, a resident of Faridabad’s Badshapur village, in front of the hospital, demanding action against the doctors and the hospital management for medical negligence.
Latesh’s brother Santram said she had come to his house in Bishanpura for the gallstone surgery. “The doctors had performed all the necessary tests on Friday, but she died on the operation table around 10 am on Saturday. But, we were informed two hours later.”
DCP Sankalp Sharma said,“The complaint will be forwarded to the CMO. On the basis of his report, police would be able to file a case.”
