Woman held for stealing gold rings in Pune

PUNE: The crime branch of the Pune police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old woman, a resident of Kothrud, for stealing two gold finger rings from a jewellery store on Centre Street in Camp.
The woman has acted in a few movies and some television serials.
A team headed by inspector Mahendra Jagtap arrested the woman from a mall on NIBM Road in Kondhwa on Saturday after receiving a tip-off about her presence.
Police recovered the two gold rings worth Rs 50,000 from her.
Deputy commissioner of police (Crime) Bachchan Singh told TOI that she played a few minor roles in the films.
According to the police, the theft took place about two weeks ago.
“The theft was recorded by the CCTV cameras installed in the shop. We first established her identity and then began our search for her,” they said.
A case against the actress has been registered with the Cantonment police station.
