FALL RIVER — Durfee's driven this rocky road before.

A weak fourth quarter of offense cost the Hilltoppers again, this time in a 60-48 Southeast Conference boys' basketball loss to Bridgewater-Raynham Regional on Friday night on the Luke Urban Field House's Skip Karam Court.

Durfee (3-14, 0-7 league) led 41-38 at the end of three quarters. B-R (7-8, 5-1 league) outscored the Hilltoppers 22-7 in the fourth quarter. Durfee led Dartmouth by seven points late in a league loss on Tuesday. And their 2019-20 season is marked with other second-half/fourth-quarter fades.

"We're trying to stay positive and, at this point, look forward to next season," sophomore Jevon Holley said. "Game by game, we keep coming out first half strong and closing out games weak."

Sophomore Jason Hall (19 points, three 3-pointers) and Holley (12 points) were Durfee's top scorers.  B-R held Hall to two points (2 free throws) in the fourth quarter. Sophomore guard Jaden Holley scored 8.

Ryan Rubenskas, a 6-foot-6 senior, scored 22 points for the Trojans. Junior swing man Daniel Doherty bagged 17 points , highlighted by three 3s in the fourth quarter. Junior guard Michael Bourne added 9.

Durfee led 15-13 at the end of one quarter and ahead 26-25 at halftime. B-R scored the first eight points of the second half, but Durfee responded and rapid-fire fast-break baskets by Hall and Holley in the last 10 seconds of the third quarter for the 41-38 lead.

"I thought the boys did a good job responding," B-R coach Doug Alves said. "They (Durfee) made some tough shots, 3s off the backboard and things like that. That's been our biggest thing, trying to overcome adversity. I think our guys did a good job. I take my hat off to Durfee. They came out on senior night and played with a lot of energy and purpose and made it tough."
