JAIPUR: The local self-government has initiated the process of appointing employees following the division of
Jaipur Municipal Corporation into parts,
Jaipur Heritage and
Jaipur Greater.
It seems the employees have developed an affinity towards Jaipur Greater. Around 70% employees have opted to work in Jaipur Greater. Most of the employees are showing interest in working within the existing corporate headquarters.
The reasons appear to be the fact that most of the areas in the Jaipur Heritage office are of boundary wall and slum area which is disputed. Apart from this, problems like dirt, sewer and traffic congestion are constant issues in the said area. Compared to this, in Jaipur Greater, there is neither such disputed area nor there are more complaints related to cleanliness.
According to sources, the municipal commissioner has sent the format to all the section and zonal offices of the corporation. In this, employees and officers have been asked their choices regarding they municipal office they want to work in. The office of Jaipur Heritage is being built in the old PHQ office in the boundary wall, while the office of Jaipur Greater will remain in the existing corporation headquarters on Tonk Road.
There will be a total of four zone offices in the Jaipur Heritage area including
Hawa Mahal, Civil Lines, Kishanpole and Adarsh Nagar Zone. The number of wards in this will be 100. At the same time, there will be seven zones like Vidyadhar Nagar, Murlipura, Jhotwara, Sanganer, Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar and Bagru offices in the Jaipur Greater. It will have 150 wards.
