Fire breaks out at Maruti car service centre in Hyderabad

Fire broke out at a car service centre in Musheerabad.
HYDERABAD: A major fire broke out at a car service centre in Musheerabad, wherein three cars were partially damaged. The fire department estimates nearly Rs 1 crore worth property damage.
The incident occurred on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, said fire department officials. "We received the alert at around 12.15am that a fire broke out at the Mitra motors which deal with the sales and service of Maruti Nexa cars, which is a G+1 building," said district fire officer, Srinivas Reddy.

According to the official, the fire started on the first floor and spread to the ground floor where cars were kept for servicing and repair work. "The first floor is for administration work. The furniture and computers everything was completely gutted after a short circuit triggered the fire. The fire then spread to the ground floor," added the officer.

Before the fire could spread further, the firefighters controlled the flames, due to which only three cars were partially gutted. Four fire tenders while 25 firefighters were put in place, and it took over one hour to completely douse the fire.
