IMFL worth Rs 32L seized, three arrested

Rajkot: A large cache of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 32.21 lakh was seized and three bootleggers arrested in Bhachau of Kutch district, Surendranagar and Rajkot on Saturday.
In Bhachau, the officials of Kutch local crime branch seized more 10,000 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 30.45 lakh from a truck and arrested Sukhendrasinh Jat and Rajendra Jat.
In the second operation at a roadside hotel in Ambedkarnagar-1 locality of Surendranagar on Saturday, the officials of Surendranagar local crime branch arrested Bhavesh Solanki (20) and recovered 487 IMFL bottles worth Rs 1.49 lakh from him. However, the co-accused, identified as Shani Parmar and Deepak Vania, fled from the hotel.
Meanwhile in Rajkot, the detection of crime branch (DCB) officials raided Ami Heights Apartment and arrested Dhaval Mundia (30) with 15 IMFL bottles worth Rs 27,820. “We had received a tip-off that Mundia had stored IMFL bottles in his flat, following which we raided his residence and arrested him,” said H M Gadhvi, inspector with the Rajkot DCB.
