GREATER NOIDA :
Maruti Suzuki has launched the all new Ignis facelift at the day 3 of the Auto Expo 2020. The car that was launched as part of their premium dealership Nexa has received minor aesthetic changes but it comes loaded with the new BSVI engine. The new car will also get a few upgrades in the form of the a new infotainment system, new colour options and a design tweak to make it look more SUV-like.
The new Ignis comes with Maruti Suzuki's K12 1.2-liter engine which still puts out similar power and torque at 83hp and 113Nm respectively. However, the company did not reveal any changes to the fuel efficiency of the car. The previous BSIV version has an ARAI claimed mileage of 20.89kmpl.
Coming to the exteriors, the car gets a new look at both front and rear. The bumpers get faux scuff plates that add to the ruggedness of the vehicle. The company has added two new colour options in single tone- Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue. Buyers interested in getting dual tone colours can get and three new colour options - Nexa Blue with black, Lucent Orange with black, and Nexa Blue with silver.
In terms of interiors, most of the dashboard has been carried over from the previous version, for the exception of the new infotainment sytem. Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the Ignis with its SmartPlay Studio on the 7-inch screen. The Brezza facelift launched on day 2 of the expo also got SmartPlay Studio compatibility.
While the changes are not substantial, this new upgrade will help Maruti bridge the gap between its new entry segment S-Presso and the Brezza. The growing demand of aesthetics that usually belong to SUVs has led to Ignis’ new avatar. The company also declared that bookings for the new Ignis are open.
