Bhiwandi: Accused in first triple talaq case held

BHIWANDI: Thane police have arrested the accused in the country's first triple talaq case from Amritsar airport, with Punjab police help. A case was registered six months ago after the Centre passed a law last year.
Nadeem Shaikh (25), from Bhiwandi, was booked under the Act after his wife Aarzo (23), who is physically handicapped, filed a case against him, accusing him of giving triple talaq via WhatsApp. Police said he fled to Dubai after they booked him. Rajkumar Shinde, DCP (zone II) of Thane police, had approached the authorities in New Delhi to issue a lookout notice. Pradeep Gupta
