Man held with 12 mobile phones
A CIA team on Wednesday arrested a miscreant and recovered 12 mobile phones from his possession. The accused was identified as 25-year-old Lucky Mota of Swatantra Nagar in Tibba area. Police officials said the CIA team on a tip-off set up a checkpost near Baba Balak Nath Temple in Subhash Nagar and managed to arrest the accused. He has been booked under Sections 379 B (snatching) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC. Police said he was facing three more cases of similar nature.
Five bottles of illicit liquor seized
Division no. 5 police have arrested a hotel owner and seized five bottles of IMFL from him in a hotel. The accused was identified as Gurpreet Singh of Issewal. Police officials said a police party was conducting checking in the bus stand area. They added that during checking, five bottles of liquor were seized from the reception of the hotel. Cops said the accused couldn’t show the permit for the same and has been booked under the Excise Act.
