30-hour remand for mirchi gang member

Noida: Having sought a five-day remand of mirchi gang member Umesh Kumar for the murder of software executive Gaurav Chandel, cops on Thursday got remand for a day and a half.
“A 30-hour remand of Umesh, lodged in Dasna jail, has been approved by the Hapur court,” said additional DCP Ranvijay Singh. Umesh had allegedly shot at Chandel and had planned the loot with Ashu Jaat. Ashu’s wife Poonam was earlier held for criminal conspiracy. Chandel’s belongings — his iPhone, laptop and a bag — are yet to be recovered. Teams of Noida, Hapur and Ghaziabad police are hoping to zero in on Ashu following reports that he might surrender in court.TNN
