Paris - France have lost in-form centre Virimi Vakatawa and back Kylan Hamdaoui for the Six Nations match against Italy on Sunday due to injuries, the team announced.

Vakatawa, 27, had heavy strapping on his left arm for a triceps injury during the 24-17 victory over England that gave a new-look France side an encouraging start to their Six Nations campaign last weekend.

The absence of a player who has scored seven tries for club side Racing 92 this season is a blow to France's attacking options.

Stade Francais player Hamdaoui, 25, will miss the game against Italy due to an ankle injury.
